Two ways to lower a price

Switching from one family to the other.
Switching from one family to the other.

A campaign applies itself for the period you set, struck-through price included, for everyone: it's what you need for a sale or a clearance. A code, on the other hand, is typed in by the client when paying: it only discounts those who know it — a newsletter, a card slipped into a bag, a partnership. Dated campaigns on one side, codes on the other; the open tab controls the create button.

Creating a promo code

A promo code: the minimum basket, your safeguard.
A promo code: the minimum basket, your safeguard.
  1. The code itself: what the client types, in capitals and without accents. Short and readable over the phone: "RENTREE10" sticks in the mind.
  2. Percentage or amount: a percentage discounts proportionally, including large baskets; a fixed amount is more predictable.
  3. The minimum basket: your safeguard. Without it, a €10-off code lands on a €12 order, delivery included. Set it above your average basket.
  4. How many times it can be used: a code can spread across social media in an hour. This limit stops you finding it used three hundred times for a campaign meant for thirty clients.
  5. Until when: always set an end date. Without one, the code resurfaces from an old email six months later.

Creating a campaign

A campaign: the preview writes out what your clients will see.
A campaign: the preview writes out what your clients will see.
  1. The name, seen by your clients: it shows on the struck-through price label. Announce the occasion: "Summer sale", "-20% on treatments".
  2. Percentage or amount: every order in the period benefits. Calculate it against your margin.
  3. Start and end: the campaign starts and stops by itself on the dates given, even at night and on Sundays.
  4. The countdown: it shows the time left and pushes people to order right away. Only show it when the end is close.
  5. The preview writes out in one sentence what your clients will see. On saving, the discount goes live on the dates planned, with no further confirmation.

Reserved rates: client groups

A group, a discount on the whole catalogue.
A group, a discount on the whole catalogue.

A group brings together clients who pay less across your catalogue: your regulars, professionals, your staff. The discount applies to the whole online catalogue and kicks in automatically once they're signed in to your shop. You add them to the group from their client page, "Reserved rate" card.

By default, a group's rate and a promo code don't stack: the client gets whichever is better of the two. You can allow stacking group by group — check your margin first. A disabled group keeps its clients but no longer discounts anything; deleting a group never deletes a client.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a campaign and a promo code?

A campaign applies itself to everyone during the set period, struck-through price included. A code, on the other hand, only discounts clients who type it in when paying.

Do a promo code and a group's rate stack?

No, not by default: the client automatically gets whichever is better of the two. You can allow stacking group by group, checking your margin first.

What happens if I disable a client group?

It keeps its clients but no longer discounts anything. Deleting it, on the other hand, never deletes a client: they simply go back to the public rate.

Why set a minimum basket on a promo code?

It's your safeguard. Without it, a €10-off code could land on a small €12 order, delivery included.
